Oldway Primary School described by OFSTED "Oldway is one of the best schools in the country
and a wonderful place in which to learn and play."
Oldway Primary School was awarded funding to develop a new Kitchen facility and multi use sports hall/dining room, further improving the schools standing. The School enrols almost 700 pupils with many of these choosing the School Kitchen to provide there lunch service. We worked closely with Torbay Council to ensue that the new catering facility would meet & exceed there demanding needs. The Kitchen has been designed with expansion of school pupil numbers in mind. The working Kitchen environment is clean and spacious with free flowing routes to all key areas. The new School menu has been improved with the benefit of enlarged storage for fresh produce and reduced capacity for frozen goods. The new facility is a massive improvement from their old redundant aging kitchen. The improvement in the working conditions for the catering staff has been enormous. The Facility was complete ready for the staff & pupils to use following the October half-term.
Torbay Council's Executive Lead for Children, Schools and Families, Councillor Chris Lewis said: "This investment is part of the council's commitment to improving learning environments to help our children get their best out of their school day. The best learning environments and good quality catering facilities can help children enjoy school and reach their full potential.".
