Graham and Sheena Massey started their commercial catering equipment career as G.S Shopfitting Limited and opened their first shop in Paignton, Devon.

1988

The business quickly grew and moved into larger warehouse premises still within the Paignton area going from a small equipment sales operation to the thriving business it is today

1990

1990

The company changed its name to the more familiar GS Catering Equipment Limited as we are today.

1994

GS Engineering was formed as a partnership

Simeon Massey was promoted to Sales Director of GS Catering Equipment Ltd

GS Engineering changed to a limited company – GS Engineering (UK) Ltd

We completed our first Million pound project for Central Food Production Unit (CFPU) for the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust

Karl Jones was promoted to Director of GS Catering Equipment Ltd

Award Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Ltd was formed and completes the 3 companies within the GS Group

Recently we undertook the total refurbishment to the catering facilities at Kellogg College Oxford. We were very impressed with the knowledge and skills that GS Catering Equipment were able to bring to the table. Regular coordination meetings were always attended by at least two of their personal with full knowledge of the project and their input was always helpful and proactive.

From the design stage to the actual works which included cold rooms, storage facilities, preparation areas and the actual kitchen equipment they performed remarkably well.

We wouldn’t hesitate in working with them again on a major prestigious kitchen fit out.

GS Catering Equipment Ltd successfully completed the Apax project for us in late 2023. HAA demand a high level of quality and detail in our kitchen designs, which I found GS Catering Equipment were able to deliver on. I found that the GS Catering team understood the brief and specifications well and the quality of their drawing production was excellent and clear. Their project management was attentive and detail focused, with good proactive problem solving, and their close out and de-snagging was also top rate.

As Project Managers, we have been delighted to work with GS Catering on the Lower Bar refurbishment at the Town Hall. The project involved a seamless integration of new catering equipment to the front and rear bar whilst maintaining and not disrupting the historic grade I fabric of the building. GS Catering were engaged from the project outset and worked with us to deliver the project on time and within budget. This project is another in a line of successful projects delivered with GS Catering and continues to promote their professionalism and willingness to engage on challenging projects. The project was delivered to a short timescale around performances. This coupled with a city centre site added further complexities to the delivery, all of which were managed well by the GS Catering team. We have recently engaged them on the next project at the Town Hall which is a further bar refurbishment for this coming year.
